Care Instructions for Sterling Silver and 14KT Gold Vermeil Jewelry
Caring for Sterling Silver & 14KT Gold Vermeil
With a little mindful care, your pieces will remain beautiful and luminous for years to come.
Sterling silver:
Sterling silver naturally oxidises over time, especially when exposed to moisture and skincare products — this is normal and easy to restore.
To maintain its shine:
- Store your silver pieces in an airtight pouch or jewelry box when not worn.
- Polish regularly with a soft silver cloth.
- If tarnish appears, you can clean the piece with a silver cleaning solution — simply follow the product instructions.
- Avoid wearing silver jewelry in the shower, pool, or during workouts.
14KT gold vermeil:
Gold vermeil is a thick layer of gold over sterling silver and benefits from gentle, mindful care.
To prolong its finish:
- Keep your pieces away from lotions, perfumes, and oils.
- Remove before sleeping.
- Keep vermeil away from water — avoid showers, swimming, and hand washing while wearing.
- Store separately from other jewelry to prevent scratches.
- Clean with softness: Use a dry, non-abrasive cloth to gently polish. Avoid chemical cleaners or polishing agents.
With proper care, your vermeil and silver pieces will keep their glow and stay radiant for years ahead.
Recycle or reuse:
Silver never loses its value: any goldsmith can buy it back or remake it into something new. So don't throw out pieces you don't use - give them a new life or pass them on.
